Shiraz was originally imported by Gerrie Du Toit from Alzu Stud. Shiraz’s sire, Stakkato, has been a dominant stallion in the Hanoverian breeding value rankings for many consecutive years, and has produced several stallions who are making waves as both competition horses and breeding stallions, such as, Spartacus, Stakkato Gold and Satisfaction. Stakkato himself, ridden by Eva Bitter, was a successful competitor in international competitions like Nations Cups and Grands Prix.
From his dam-line comes blood from one of Germany’s finest producers of showjumping horses, approved stallion, Raphael. Radiator, Rene Tebel’s top Grand Prix horse, is a product of Raphael. Shiraz’s grand-dam is the versatile Pik Koeing, who produced numerous dressage and showjumping horses.
